    exactly.............

all I got at this point is the magic numbers - haven't bothered to see who they are as very unlikely I can make since we are already pulling a certain 8th grader out for sundance :)

Here the announcement by moxafrica on FaceBook:

    Moxafrica shared a link.
Just in case you can (and want to..) get to a really exciting event for Moxafrica... we've got a big benefit gig in the Islington Halls in London on 6th March.

David Gray is headlining, with the Magic Numbers, Gabriella Cilmi, David Ford, Bo Bruce, and Buckshot Soup supporting - and a pair of Bono's over-cool shades to raffle (among other things...).

We've got a feeling that it will sell out fast, so if you want tickets, we seriously encourage you not to hang around.http://www.moxafrica.org/64html.

For old farts like me, here's the low down on some of the acts - they're pretty damn good and almost none of them are currently touring - so it's a real opportunity if you're a fan!:

David Gray: 12 million album sales, the best-selling album in Ireland ever with White Ladder, a BAFTA nomination for his soundtrack work on 2004 film A Way Of Life. Two Ivor Novellos, a Q award, two Brit nominations and a Grammy nomination.

The Magic Numbers: their 2005 album was shortlisted for the coveted Mercury Prize (and they are the first band ever to have walked off the set of Top of the Pops!! Yay!)

Gabriella Cilmi: awarded six Aria awards in 2008, including Single of the Year and Best Female Artist. She's an Australian singer songwriter.

David Ford: British musician with a great reputation - "Genuine depth and striking authority" - Rolling Stone.

Bo Bruce: runner up in 2012's TV show "the Voice".

    Buckshot Soup: acoustic/country/roots goodtime band.

The evening is being hosted by Neil McCormick - best-selling author of "Killing Bono" hailed by Elton John as "the best book I have ever read on trying to make it in the music industry"...!

The event will almost certainly keep Moxafrica on track - and is solely down to one person - Gloria Else, a London acupuncturist.

so solo acoustic? or perhaps a visit from a couple more? :D

Edit/Clarification: Would anyone expect possibly a bare bones setup or something of similar size? How well do you think DG could headline by himself?

Neil McCormick, the host of this evening, on Rob Holden's first response to the request:

"...Then David Gray’s manager called. He’d been on holiday and missed earlier attempts to contact him. “What’s this all about then? Trying to save Africa with Chinese medicine? You’ve obviously gone completely mad!”
    Lol!
