I can't tell you how glad, happy and excited I am for this. Every year I go to Summerfest and I think to myself, "David should be here!" Can,Not,Wait!

LOL- DCA, being from Chicago originally, have you ever been to Summerfest?? Its not as bad of a festival as the weekend ones (Lolla, coachella, etc). Very spread out, good crowds, minus the handfull of crappy kids last year who started fights near hip hop bands. It'd be great to hear if you reconsider, and pass up Wrigley (boo Cubs ;p ) Maybe we will see ya at the HOB show though btw im from Lewisville originally, and called my sis, who's in Plano, during the storms this week. I take it you missed any real damage from them as well?? Looked like a wicked cell that passed through there...ok back to DG talk :) brad

haha on the cubs............at this point it certainly isn't something I am terribly proud of - I do though love taking alex to wrigley as I spent so many awesome times there in my youth and so while it does sound more enticing we will have to pass - the one thing we do try to do on these extended tours is at least try to do some stuff for alex so the game is a good break - and then dinner with the family and cousins etc so it is all good we will absolutely see you at hob - still trying to figure out which hotel so more to come there - and we are definitely in on the zoo as well so at this point 3/4 ain't so bad! yeah I was at home at the time - what was scarey was how many tornadoes were actually actually touching down all over the place - the map of the action is pretty impressive - thankfully nothing in frisco just north of your sis - but thanks for the shout out! and absolutely on back to DG talk!

I have been to Summerfest every single year for the past 10 years. SO happy David Gray is performing on the Grounds Stage finally, the festival is peaceful and crowded at times but the stages are amazing. I don't mind sitting for hours to get a good seat.....it will be beautiful to hear him under the stars.

So we're down to these dates as possibilities, with July 6/8 less likely given the July 7 Vermont show:
Wed, June 27 Wed, July 4 Thurs, July 5 Fri, July 6 Sun, July 8

Also, for those of you possibly considering coming to Milwaukee and not familiar with Summerfest & wondering if/when tickets are available...they're not. Guessing the show will be around 930 or 10pm. you pay for admission to the Summerfest grounds (about $15-$20), then its general admission outdoor stage setting from there on. TONS of food, drink, etc at Summerfest. If you want to be up front, the earlier in the day you get there, the better :) I'm guessing the exact date won't be announced for at least 2-3 weeks, as Summerfest has to get their lineups all configured.
Anyone have questions about it, please feel free to ask. :)

There is quite the variety to the size and layout of the different grounds stages. So far they've announced most of the lineup for the Miller and Briggs stages (2 of the larger stages) and no DG. July 5 is the only opening on both stages.

Hey UWMike! I saw that David's Facebook page posted yesterday that he would be at 7:30pm CT on July 4th. There was no stage listed, just the time and date. Hope this helps!

Thanks, I also see this site now lists July 4. 7:30 seems like an odd time for a Summerfest headliner, maybe its a July 4 thing, or maybe just a placeholder on the DG site.
