Many years ago my friend always used to say this, but now we prefer to think they are 'on elastic'. When her children were in their late teens they left home to be independent thinking they were grown-up, but every so often they returned to the 'nest' when things started to go wrong and they needed 'mothering'. The tables have turned now as my friend doesn't enjoy the best of health. they are always there for her whenever she needs them. Always going the extra mile. Such a joy to see.
