David Gray

If the moderators will please remove my name from the mailing list. I must of thought this was a David Gray site, not David Ford, whoever the hell he is, and I really could care less.

 

No HomerGreebottom it is a David Gray site - stick with it. I must say that any news from the DG camp is pretty thin at the moment but that's life. He can't be writing and producing new material and tour at the same time. Please be patient

.......... your lack of desire to learn about new artists speaks for itself

and there actually is activity up in the DG sections - plural - go chime in on the money song or play the song title game............... and obviously the gig section has its moments and is about to start humming in a few weeks

you joined the board two weeks ago and have contributed little beyond your initial hello - what exactly were you expecting??!! DG to personally greet you??!! 

 

Well Homer, I do not know if you have ever been to another forum before but the nature of a forum is that it lives on, from and by the contributions of it's members. This includes each and every member. This does include you btw. Naturally there are more busy times when an album is released or a tour is in full flow. There are also quieter ones such as now. Especially in the later everyone should try and contribute some interesting thoughts, finds from the web, whatever.

You will find a lot of interesting threads in the 9 out of 10 sections which are exclusively about David Gray. The artist we are all here for. 

Then there is one single section where everyone can discuss other matters and of course other artists.  If a very active member has a special interest in a particular artist there may be more about that one artist. Just ignore it then. After all different topics are what a general section is for.

It is technically impossible to delete a member, no one can do this. So membership on here is for life and beyond... So you may just leave or - even better - you may as well start contributing about David Gray. Personally I am looking forward to reading what you have to say about him.

I'm not entirely sure how to respond politely. Perhaps the favorite forum would be the General Discussion.There we are allowed to express ourselves beyond the DG cocoon we've wrapped ourselves in. I'm not entirely sure who David Ford is(no offense, DCA), and his name does crop up frequently here, but to remove yourself is harsh indeed. However, if you are simply here to ruffle a few feathers, I'd encourage you to find a different outlet for your disatisfaction. We may not respond verbally, but we like to keep as composed as we, as adults, should. A David Gray/David Ford concert tour may be a fantasy for some (a humorous aside to my Dallas friend), so it's just his way of telling us of his fondness for Mr. Ford. Stick around for a while, you may find yourself being entertained, if nothing else. Oh, and ditto to Sigmadelta (another pal of mine). Keep your chin up and an ear to the radio!

and for the edification of the uneducated...............Ford is a tremendous talent who has become a friend - and has been nice enough to perform a couple house gigs over the past two years

and he has garnered the admiration of many bb stallwarts ............I can easily include Rena, Marcel, Bluewater, Signofthecrab, Saintsfan, Vickicalvin, Spinny4Thoughts, Miralake, Erin amongst others who I can say are definite members of family Ford.............several of which have traveled to Dallas, Philly, Toronto and elsewhere to see him perform....I think that Tim would also agree that he is quite the talent - I do know he thoroughly enjoyed Ford's performance

so while yes I certainly do promote the cause I would like to hope it isn't falling on deaf ears...........the fact that there are 2,300 views for that thread leads me to believe that is not the case

while all of us are drawn to this board because of our love of DG most of us also share the same love for music in general and many are drawn to similar artists..........

and if you don't like Ford TOO fecken bad because I am about to post FIVE MORE VIDEOS FROM THE RECENT HOUSE GIG WOOOOOOT!!!!!!! 

 

 

All I can say is, "I sincerely apologise for all the trouble I've caused"......my cd arrived in the mail today!  Thanks DCA!  Eternal membership is even better.

a cooper tour needs to get sorted by our little UK/US collaboration - messes with the logistics............but you can bet that ford will be touring the uk in the fall - the man needs to eat and heat the house in the winter - the plan is to coincide with the new cd - you should go! let me know if I can help
