So, now that the Lost and Found tour has come to an end (..as far as we know! xD) , what do you think will happen next? Feel free to post your wishes, thoughts (positive or negative!) here. I'm not sure much will happen now until late autumn - then we might get some snippets of new music/ideas. Can't wait

From reading and listening to interviews, I would guess that David would head back into the studio in the fall. So am I hopeful for a 2012 new album. And maybe a live dvd release this fall?!?

My thoughts exaxtly cd case, i am hoping for a new album, maybe around this time next year or even earlier would be great and a live dvd release would be fantastic. I'm hoping It Accumulates makes the next record, am i right in thinking it has not been sung on the UK or the USA part 2 tour and that it was sung once on USA part 1 at a Canadian gig( will go and check set list)? And teemto agree on looking forward to any snippets/tasters of any new stuff.
Edited to say that it Accumulates was performed at Massey Hall Toronto on Feb 25 2011.

What a nice idea for a thread Teemto. So as for David - just like Elysium said - a live cd or even dvd if we are very lucky. Made of the footage of that one amazing concert at the Dublin Convention Centre. And then he will go into the studio. Judging from the two songs I was privileged to hear at the O2 in May he will go and outdo himself once more. Should the new album be anything like what we got to hear in May - wow. This is going to be amazing. "All thoughts turn to next." he wrote in his Facebook entry from an hour ago. And as for us? Waiting and hoping in anticipation I'd say...

hmmm, well with david gray it's as predicting world cup or something. like anything could happen. worst case scenario would be we don't hear anything at all until next year. for myself i'd be so so happy if he releases a live record with a mix of all the songs and gigs and hopefully a few rare ones on. the groupon thing was to fast and to weird for me, at the time i heard it was out it disappeared again. so a real cd/vinyl/dvd/cassette would be more than great. as for a new record, i don't mind if he takes some time. we were spoiled the last two years, especially north america with loads of gigs (well deserved as they obviously bought the record). i'd say take as much time as you like and make something new again. he's always trying to push himself to something new, that needs time. i don't know why but sometimes i think of his "strange fruit" cover and wish he would do something like that. something really big in terms of music history. he is a walking jukebox with all his influences...

hmmm, well with david gray it's as predicting world cup or something. Geez, RyanRunner, we in Rochester are still mourning the loss of the Women's World Cup. We're holding a HUGE rally today and tomorrow for our hometown girl Abby Wambach. They tried so hard, but congrats to the Japanese team.

Just to get back on topic, I think a DVD would really be cool, particularly if it covers the L&F tour in the states. I'd love to see some of the other venues, featuring the Strathmore/Washington/N. Bethesda/Baltimore show which was attended by a few Grayheads, myself included. Seeing some of the old songs, especially Gathering Dust and Falling Down, would really be special.

I second that philly, he peformed some real gems on the tour. I am sure David will pick the best for the live Cd, i can't wait. Also keeping fingers tightly crossed for a live dvd.

not so sure about that philly - and of course agree that catching some of those gems from the early gigs would be sweet - but having seen those and then the progression to the uk (and then on to phase II) my guess would be the perfectionist in DG will allow only the later gigs getting air time...... I am with ak - a rip roarin rocker gets my vote

I agree that a live album or DVD is needed. For some reason, the Dublin release seemed like a tease. I'm so spoiled by two years in a row of a US tour. All it's done is make me want more!

I think that a DVD release will out of the question, no chance. especially for this year anyway. while I would love to be proven wrong, cannot see it happening for a long time. Plus Blu-Ray releases are now something that artists, management, production companies, distributor all want to release and they take alot of time to produce, the artists want to release their material in best possible quality ever, and as DCA said above DG is a perfectionist. comes down to money as well, blu-ray invariably make more money because us fans are more willing to pay for the higher quality. as stated already, they are the artists, etc preference nowadays, not saying a DVD won't happen too, it will but only with a blu-ray too, which in my mind makes it less of a possibility, for the time being anyway. Plus the concert that's been recorded too, the Dublin one, doesn't seem like good Blu-ray/DVD material for me, largely down to the venue, which looks freaking awful. Looking forward to the live double CD though, have a wishlist of songs I want to see on there, Dust, Mountainside, Falling Free to name but three.
