I am so disgusted!  I log in at 10:30 AM to get tickets for the presale. I have been a fan of david gray for 7 years and I can't believe that not 1 ticket was available in the first minute of the pre-sale.  I attempted to login with my old username but that did not help.  I was hoping for 2 tickets in New York since I live in Philadelphia nd the cost factors of getting there to see my favorite singer/songwriter. How can there not be any tickets available within seconds of posting the presale?  A fan in disbelief.

I too logged in at 10.30 on the button. Managed to get 2 tix straight away and then the clock started ticking as the site was clogging up with buyers..........then I timed out at the end of the 10 min waiting period! HOWEVER my credit card WAS CHARGED! soooooooooooo do I jump up and down for joy that I have tix? OR do I get pissed because my card was charged and I have no confirm number?

I can understand being a lil' ticked Jonathan BUT remember ya can still get tix when they officially go on sale. No worries........fingers crossed.

Hi johnathan, Sorry to hear you were unable to get tickets through  the presale. They did go very fast. The good news is you still have the opportunity to purchase your tickets through the public sale on October 19 throught Ticketmaster.

    Best of luck

I too am highly disgusted and upset with the fact that I was unable to get tickets. I was on at 10am logged in and ready to purchase tickets for the Massey Hall show  in Toronto for an hour and was unable to get even one ticket. I also tried for his show in New York for 30 minutes and was just as unsuccessful. I have seen all of David's shows in Toronto and had great tickets in the past. I have even waited all day to line up and get into venue's before...and now I'm totally bummed out that I can't even get pre-sale tickets. Also a fan in disbelief.....

I have checked around and four of the T.O. tickets from this morning went to a broker who is now selling them for 185 each.  Is there some way that can be traced Kendall? Its really unfortunate when regular members can't get on.  That sale should be cancelled.  I suppose its hard to know whether a member is legit or just a broker but if someone has not posted more than once or twice, that might be a clue.  I have been very lucky to get more than my fair share of live DG in the last few years so maybe I shouldn't complain.  But I feel badly for people like Katiemay who has not been able to travel and tried so hard to get ticks only to be trounced by a broker.

    I knew it!  185/ticket?!

See, something has to be done to fix that.  I pm'd Kendall and mentioned the same thing about regulars.

I just want to be clear though, I don't think I have any more rights than anyone else to get tickets, but when you see all these names (and now broker's have their paws on them) that you know never post around here, it just tick's me off.  What do you do?

I'm disappointed as well. I was so excited that I had a chance to see David in Toronto, I live in Northern Michigan. But even though I logged on at 10 this morning, tickets must have been sold out within the first 2 seconds. Not sure why I receive notices about early ticket sales, etc. if I am not actually able to buy a ticket! I will not spend $185 a ticket and then drive 8 hours + room & board to see him. I'll stay home & listen to him on cd instead.

Sorry David, I really was looking forward to supporting you here in the states.

TOTALLY agree here...it is just not fair!  I do know from a friend who manages a venue in my home town when they sign the performance contracts the artists can stipulate what percentage of the ticket sales they will be in charge of...artist in question was Pearl Jam.  They had major control over their ticket sales for their fans...which was wonderful.  My friend couldn't even get me tickets because they weren't allowed to make personal purchases too (which was also in pearl jam's contract!)

It is difficult for a fan website to handle the sales like this....however, having more tickets available (perhaps 30-40% of venue) and fewer ticket limits (like 2-4 per person) would be a good start!?

Hi....so psyched to see dates on the states but nothing on the WEST COAST!!  I thought for sure there might be one night in San Francisco.  Any plans in the near future to hit the west coast??

As an FYI to the rest of this string, I tried to logistically make the Denver date work for my wife and I (unfortunately it's impossible) however, I tried for pre-sale, missed out, called two brokers $185, $225

Now it looks the the TO tickets are down to 170 with the broker.  I think there should be a no scalper/broker policy for presales.  I wonder whether the broker who has the tickets is registered as a member on here. There is after all an agreement members have to accept when they sign up here.  If they used their actual company name then I suppose they were entitled to compete with everyone else.  Just leaves a bad taste in my mouth since the whole purpose of the presale is to get tickets into the hands of fans who support the bb, not for a broker to make a profit.  They probably scout out these sorts of things and with no membership fee to sign up, its a great deal for them.  In my humble opinion, I don't expect that the broker company buys any downloads, cds or supports the artist otherwise.

Good luck to all of you who are still trying. Hope to see you there.Smile

I think musictoday or whomever else is involved in all of this pre-sale junk needs a clue on how to properly handle these things. For as long as I've been on here with different names, different years, and different purchases, there have ALWAYS been problems. Even when I haven't been involved in a transaction there have been problems with other people. I just think it's pathetic that davidgray.com, david gray himself, his label, his agent, or anyone else would still want to be linked to such a ridiculous, pathetic excuse for a business. For those of you who got screwed on your pre-sale....don't worry, I've been screwed twice on pre-sale tickets. Once for a Chicago show I was going to fly to see only to end up with junk seats, and the other here in Nashville at the Ryman which would have been the greatest show I've ever been to had I not gotten cheated there also. Shouldn't something get done? Why consistently upset your loyal fans and consumers?
