Just found this  article (New York Times Magazine) about the producer Rick Rubin. It´s worth reading! Music

Think it would be a nice idea if Rick Rubin and DG could work once together.Smile

"That's the magic of the business," he said. "It's all doom and gloom, but then you go to a Gossip show or hear Neil in the studio and you remember that too many people make and love music for it to ever die. It will never be over. The music will outlast us all." The Music Man by LYNN HIRSCHBERG ,September 2, 2007

BTW: Marius de Vries is - as far as I know - the producer of David Gray´s most recent recordings! I think Marius de Vries has no need to hide behind Rick Rubin!

    Have a look:

    Film:

Producer and music director for Baz Luhrmann’s Moulin Rouge; composed the original score for Stephan Elliott’s Eye of the Beholder starring Ewan McGregor and Ashley Judd; co-produced, co-composed and co-wrote the soundtrack for Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo & Juliet; worked with U2 on Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me for Batman Forever and with Tina Turner on the title song for the ‘James Bond’ film Goldeneye; producer, co-writer and musical supervisor for the soundtrack of The Avengers starring Ralph Fiennes and Uma Thurman.

    Music:

He produced numerous tracks on Madonna’s Ray of Light, Bjork’s Vespertine, and Perry Farrell’s Song Yet To Be Sung; co-wrote and co-produced tracks on Robbie Robertson’s Contact From the Underworld of Red Boy and Neil Finn’s Try Whistling This; produced and co-wrote tracks on Kelli Ali’s forthcoming LP Tigermouth, Mel C’s Northern Star, and Anja Garbarek’s Balloon Mood; additional production and mixing on David Bowie’s Seven and Survive singles, David Gray’s Sail Away from White Ladder, and several tracks on P J Harvey’s Is This Desire? Other credits include Massive Attack’s Protection, Björk’s Post and Debut, U2’s Pop and Madonna’s Bedtime Stories.Recently he has  produced and written with Josh Groban on his  2007 release  "Awake", and mixed Rufus Wainwright's beautiful new (2007) LP  "Release The Stars".

Awards: 2002 BAFTA for Moulin Rouge; BAFTA and Ivor Novello award for Romeo & Juliet; Grammy nominations for Madonna’s Ray of Light, Robbie Robertson’s Contact From the Underworld of Red Boy and the Moulin Rouge soundtrack.
