David Gray was guest at the Mountain Music Lounge quite a few times in recent years and gave stunning live performances.

David's The One I Love in a live version from 2007 is featured as the first song on the new Live From The Mountain Lounge - The Essential Collection - album to be released tomorrow.

Other featured artists are Paul Simon, Ray LaMontagne, The Head and the Heart, Ryan Adams and many more.

David Gray Press Release Lost SongsThe year 2000 began with a most bizarre, fantastic and totally unforeseen event. The album white Ladder went to no.1 in the Irish charts, and as if this was not enough then proceeded to install itself for a six-week stay.There and then it became obvious to me that I was going to have to stop putting a ceiling on my expectations. The rules were being re-written, and what has happened in the six months that has followed, has only served to strengthen my belief that I have entered a realm where anything is possible.So to the release of ?lost songs?. Songs from the lean years, years when I was dragging my music like a burden through an indifferent world, feeding my creative spirit on scraps. My how the world has changed, and so quickly! These days when I take to the stage I am singing in another world entirely, and I am filled to bursting with an irrepressible joy at being alive and doing what I?m supposed to do.So as ?Lost Songs? leaps in straight at No.1. It seems like the right time to stop the wheels for a moment, and say thank you to all the people who have taken my music to their hearts, bought the records, and cheered at the concerts. Greetings Weboloids,

Updates on up and coming events and imminent digital wonderments!!

In the wake of some serious road work supporting Draw the Line in 2009/10 I've slowed down the pace a little in 2011. My 9th studio album Foundling came out in the summer of 2010 and I realised when trying to incorporate the new material into my set, that it warranted a completely different approach in order to do the new songs justice. Thus a plan was hatched for a new kind of show and one that would not only enhance the Foundling material but also shine a new light on songs reaching right back to my earliest recordings.

Basically the idea was to use real instruments mic'ed up, and to have the musicians as close to each other as the staging would allow - the aim being to be as musically fleet of foot as possible, with a crystal clear sound. More like a glorified recording session than a 'Rock' show. Please step forward - 'The Lost and Found Tour'.

The Tour began back in a snowy Boston on February 19, and from the very first moment it started, it was clear that something special was taking place. What soon became clear was that not just the new songs, but all the songs sounded so much sweeter for the clarity and intimacy that this new musical setting provided, and out in front of an audience, the whole thing just lit up. Each gig became like a surge of joy, and in all my years playing music, I've never felt so at home and in my element up on the stage.

The British leg of the tour began with a great show in the Liverpool Philharmonic on May 27, and as we hit our stride, it seemed that rather than wearing off, the magic was in fact getting stronger. The tour ended at the Convention Centre Dublin on June 8, which was filmed and recorded. The result is something that I'm very proud of.

These shows have been so precious to me, it only seemed like a shame that more people wouldn't get to see them, but now, thanks to the magic of technology, exactly that is possible, and at just the click of a digital switch. We have a 12 track digital live album recorded in Dublin available via Groupon for $6. Also you can watch the video of the whole concert via O2BlueRoom.ie. The second leg of the US tour starts on Sunday, June 25, these will probably be my last shows in a while so hope to see you out there.

NYC, listen to 101.9 FM WXRP Sept. 15 at 8:30 am EDT to hear David perform live on air and talking about his music. For everyone else, WXRP can be heard online at www.1019rxp.com.

Not sure if this may have been recorded while he was in NYC during his recent tour or if this is a live performance indeed.

There is some interesting video footage on their website from his last performance in support of Draw The Line too. You can find it here. according to singer Lindsay Ferguson's official website David will play a small and intimate gig at Ottawa's Museum of Nature. This show will be broadcasted by Ottawa's radio station Live 88.5

Hi Folks..
I just found out that I get to realize a dream! When I was working all those years ago in Ireland, I was introduced to a CD called “David Gray ~ Lost Songs” it would be the soundtrack to my life for quite sometime, until “White Ladder” came out… and I still play that one with fervour!!! In any case, he is coming to Ottawa’s new and improved Museum of Nature, and LIVE 88.5 is having a live radio taping, live off the floor at the Museum featuring ME as well as David Gray. I am excited to say the least!! I am on from 12:05pm until 12:15pm… that’s 10mintutes and approximately three tracks if all goes to plan!! David will be on from 1:35pm until 1:50pm. What a thrill, there are a few others too, Tara Holloway, Jonathan Chandler & Pete Hammond…stop by Live 88.5 online to have a listen… How amazing!! Wooooooooooooooo!!! Vancouver Peak FM intimate concert

According to a very personal report of the event on this blog here David played an intimate concert for 50 lucky listeners to The Peak FM.

There was an question & answer session as well.

Someone else in the room [...] asked David what inspired him.
And his response was something along the lines of,
You can’t wait around for inspiration to show up. You have to make yourself sit down and just write a song.
