Seit 2005 hört man Songs wie «The One I Love», «Babylon» oder «Fugitive» in ganz Europa. David Gray hatte drei Nummer-1-Alben in Grossbritannien, darunter mit «White Ladder» das in Irland meistverkaufte Album aller Zeiten. Mit seinen melancholischen Songs rührt der 1968 in Manchester geborene Brite seine Zuhörerinnen und Zuhörer bisweilen zu Tränen. Doch im nächsten Moment zaubert er mit seinen humorvollen Ansagen und Anekdoten den Fans wieder ein Lachen ins Gesicht. Diesem Wechselbad der Gefühle konnte sich auch das Publikum beim Auftritt am Zermatt Unplugged Festival 2011 nur schwerlich entziehen. Mal von zwei Musikern seiner Band begleitet, dann wieder solo gab Gray im einmaligen Ambiente des Unplugged-Zeltes fantastische Akustikversionen seiner bekanntesten Songs zum Besten.

Unfortunately I can't get this station. Sigh...

Sorry to everybody who recorded the announced "Best of Zermatt Unplugged 2011" on Swiss TV 2 - apparently they decided to show the concert of Mando Diao instead of the "Best of..." - but at least it was announced that the "Best of..." will be shown on a later occasion (no date announced yet) -

Phew, was just coming home to have a quick look at my recording and could not find any DG but I now know why

Just seen on facebook:

"Best of Zermatt Unplugged 2011" SF Musicnight VORAUSSICHTLICH am 01.07.11 um 00.15 Uhr. Details folgen, sobald Genaueres bekannt ist.

So I have put that one in my diary....
