DCA - you're the bomb - LEONARD COHEN!!  OMG! How has his music escaped me all these years??  Took a quick listen, snippets from albums on his website - blown away - I'm hooked, totally.  I bow to you, DCA, and thank you for sharing.  P.S.  Do you like JJ Cale?

    Cheers from Pam in Tampa!

haha but no bowing necessary (well unless you have the same reaction to ford)

but nevermind is the staunch leonard cohen fan.............I have never really gotten there truthfully - and his wanting $550 a head never quite set well with me

I know of jj cale but have never given him a proper listen.........my mid life crisis has resulted in our spending a lot more time with 20-somethings at gigs of groups like the lumineers and the head and the heart Smile

$550?  Crikey - I could fly to London and take in a show at the Royal Albert for that kind of dough ... granted, I would need plane fare home, or not ... Good luck with your MLC - Smile

    Hi Pam,

I Like lots of other artists, but none as much as David Gray of course.

Check out Paulo Nutini, he's fanatstic, I like Mumford and Sons, Snow patrol, Paul weller, especially his older stuff with the Jam, Coldplay, Franz Ferdinand, Feeder.

I moved this part of the thread to the general section because it's not about David Gray anymore. It's interesting to read who else everyone listens to.

As for Leonard Cohen - I was previleged to see him live quite a few times. Fortunately ticket prices in Europe aren't anywhere near what is charged in the US. His live performances last well over 3 hours - at the age of almost 78. This man has aged in style and dignity. I think his lyrics are brilliant. One of THE artists of our time.

As for other artists, my favourites are The National, Bon Iver, Phosphorescent, Sigur Ros and good old Kasabian for the fun dancing hours...

I also like Bob Dylan's lyrics a lot.

Hi Pam! I'm so happy that their are quite a few Leonard Cohen fans at DG's community board! DG and LC , two of the greatest musicians ever! :-)
