So Ford bounces across the pond on Monday for a brief four gig east coast tour - our own signofthecrab and george are lucky enough to get him first I think - on Wednesday in his favorite US city of Philly back at the World Cafe.......again anyone in new jersey, nyc, philly or dc should really try to see him live - he is awesome!

And then their seemingly regular crusade cross country to pay homage to elvis and then a spin near vicki for a wedding in Okl City - followed by a couple days in D woot!

So with that gift on our lap we decided to go for round two this year - the "live and learn gig" - and one purposeful change was to lower the number in the crowd for a more intimate feel but at the same time also try to beef up those that wanted to be there as compared to neighbors who were just there.........so we are lucky enough to have a few grayheads in attendance for our little house gig - just for AK much more to come!

he covered paul mccarteny's "I Will" this afteroon on the xpn gig and then tonight ac/dc's "you shook me all night long" in ballad form tonight!

I cannot take it any more.................I am headed to dc this weekend to catch sunday night's gig lol!

DC tonight!!!! I couldn't take it and hopped a plane - and I get the added bonus of going with our lovely Sheryl - and some dude I grew up with but haven't seen in 30 years!!!!!!!!!! ahhhhh the beauty of the internet.

thnaks Elysium! Just back from the sound check.............the tour has gone extremely well and ford is in a great spirit.........should be a good one tonight - and then back to the hotel to booze it up after - my kind of an evening!!

WOW!!!! So happy I did this!!

As suspected Ford did not disappoint last night...................the opener got ill (hospital ill in fact but supposedly he is ok) but that meant we got extended ford - I think everyone in the place was very happy to hear of the poor dude's misfortune!! So we got two sets - awesome!

Great little venue................good staff and you could tell the owners get it

I was with friends and generally hanging out so i didn't write down a setlist but highlights from what I remember (yup we did get a little carried away...............)

Poison was the opener - this as with all the new stuff was great to hear live

Miss Lilly was AWESOME!!!! Ford was so into it - was really great to see

Requiem - not sure why I wasn't expecting it but it caught me off guard and was a very powerful performance

Decimate - absolutely one of the highlights - the song in and of itself but this ac/dc cover as a ballad was one of the most amazing things I have ever heard in 50 years of attending gigs.............just absolute brilliance

Waiting For the Storm - I begrudgingly took this off the set list for house gig I - it was clear after last night that was a big mistake (incidentally I have passed the baton back to Ford for part II - that was a complete nightmare trying to pick just 12 songs lol!)

the looping was as usual top notch and so we got stellar performances of the mainstays like go to hell song for the road etc - you could tell the crowd loved all of them

great rendition of its the economy

philly boy was absolutely fantastic and every time as the closer was incredibly powerful

joey love was tremendous - I think he added a great spark but was subtle enough to not intrude on ford's brilliance - as I mentioned the boys are having a great tour and were all in very good spirits - stayed far too late without any dinner............a bit of a mistake!

Amusingly I ran into ford on the elevator on our way to brekafast just now.............if it wasn't to see one of my very best friends I would never have mustered the will power to make it down but we had a nice little cup of coffee and a good chat

they are off to nashville to see ingrid michaelson tonight - a bit jealous - but not of the drive in front of them!!!

cannot wait for next sunday.................more to come! oh and we hired a new camera dude this year - hoping he has a little more creativity than the knucklehead from last year! fingers crossed..............
