I 've copied this from my post from the church studio gig, i have such wonderful memories of this gig. May 06
What an amazing experience.
Arrived at Church studio at 6pm to be 1st row, talking to tour crew who kept nipping out for a smoke(see England shirt thread in general).
The church is beautiful its enormous.
Anyway doors opened 7pm and we were treated to pickies and alcohol got carried away a little with the red wine.(never mind)
Martin Collins came on and introduced Dg who he said he was a fan off and had followed since early in his career.
DG came on and commented on How close we were there wasn't even a gap or stage we were all on the floor, i was stood 6ft away when he was on guitar and about 4ft from his piano.
Now much chat just got on with the singing, could actually see the set list taped on the floor in front of him - as followsHospital
Babylon
Slow Motion
Silver
TOIL
Nos Da Cariad
(T.Y.L)
LatelyI managed to get my 1st setlist along with his towel, bottle of water and my shirt signed. We also recieved a signed photograph as we left the building.
Afterwards just sat in the coffee shop over the road amazed.
Then walked up the Broadway for a kebab, chatting to one of his crew who was at the bus stop who i also seen in the hotel room the next day.
Forgot to mention that Rob was not there a different guy on bass who i was also talking to as i was leaving my hotel room could hearing him playing LISM earlier, told him he was really good on guitar he told me he was giong back to the church for rehearsals as they were off to Germany at Wkend. Trevor informed me that Robs wife just had baby thats why the other guy was playing.
Anyway gonna go now and get some rest,
Although this was an amazing experience, what dreams are made of, but it was over way to soon, i could have stayed there forever.
