David Gray will be performing at the Nobel Peace Prize concert in Oslo. What an honour. And he so deserves the recognition of his outstanding talents.

Tickets are now on sale for this year's Nobel Peace Prize Concert

on Sunday, December 11, in Oslo, Norway at the Oslo Spektrum Arena

Tickets can be bought from ticketmaster Norway . It's all in Norwegian but I think it pretty much explains itself and is easy to read and handle.

Here is a seating chart . Of course the good seats are all gone because they will be reserved for VIPs etc...

    Anyone going?

As pointed out in the other thread, ..I think we're all getting the itch now^^

Staring back with your own eyes,
    Playing games with the numbers,
    Messing around with the dates

Wow, David on the Noble Prize - I am really proud of him! Great news and a big honour. And he plays along with Bernhoft - have any of you guys herad of him? He's a new norwegian superstar - but with talent! He is called a 1-man-band-machine, and that's why:

Wow!  Thanks for posting that link!  I've seen other artists do all the parts of the music before, but this is the best I've heard.  I love his voice!  I'll definitely be looking him up!

    @ropreston

if you like this, then check out one of my all-time favourites, Howie Day. He got quiet strange within the last few years but was great at the beginning of his career. To me he was the first to do that sample-n-pedals-thing. one of his best songs using this technique is definitely "Ghost"; there is a live e.p. called "Madgrials" with a bonus DVD with 5 tracks - that version of "Ghost" is the ultimate one, but did not find it online so I share this one here with you:

Does anyone know whether this show will be broadcast live or even after the event, either on UK tv or Sky?

Helen Mirren will host the Nobel Peace Prize concert in Norway next month, organisers announced!

Dame Helen Mirren will host the Nobel Peace Prize concert in Norway next month, organisers announced.

The British actress, currently filming a drama about US music producer Phil Spector with Al Pacino, will compere a line-up including Evanescence and Glee star Matthew Morrison.

Other British performers will include David Gray and Ellie Goulding. Country duo Sugarland, Jill Scott and the World Youth Choir will also take part.

Dame Helen, star of The Queen and Prime Suspect, has won four Baftas, three Golden Globes and four Emmy awards in a career spanning 45 years.

The concert will be held in Oslo on December 11 - the day after the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony, which this year honours Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, President of Liberia, Liberian women's rights activist Leymah Gbowee and Tawakkul Karman, a democracy activist from Yemen.

Geir Lundestad, secretary of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, said: "The Nobel Committee is thrilled to welcome Helen Mirren and these acclaimed artists to help us spread the message of peace around the world.

"It promises to be a truly spectacular evening and we encourage the world to tune in and join us."

The Nobel Peace Prize has previously honoured Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Barack Obama.

The concert has followed the day after the prize for the last 17 years.

An important award given to some remarkable ladies! Since the theme of the night is women's rights and progress I was thinking about what he might play...hmmmm??? I can see how Birds without wings or Clean pair of eyes would be appropriate....Or maybe, A new day at Midnight. But then again his Blackbird cover would be just about perfect...or maybe a new cover: Dylan's Paths of Victory would be a fabulous choice! Hmmm, what else.....???

Of course! Woman's Work by Kate Bush! That's a tall order but, Oh, so appropriate. Even Kate's Running up that Hill would work...given the whole uphill battle thing, trading places, making deals with god, etc.... I realize this is all Fantasyland, but it's fun to think about!

Am I seeing from that link that the concert will only be aired online at CNN.com?  I didn't see where they said it would be on TV.  I was hoping to set it to record if it were on TV.
