    David,

On March 27, 2010 my wife and I saw you in Columbus, Ohio.  You sang 'The Other Side' and we both cried because my wife's father was very ill.  Exactly two months later on May 27 he went to 'The Other Side'.

Your song meant so much to us that we played it during calling hours as his pictures moved across the flat panel.  Your words in so many songs mean a lot to us, but "the Other Side' is the one that means the most to us.

We would be honored if you would sing this song for my wife Rene' at your July 5 show in Akron, Ohio.

We intend to stay after the show and hope to meet you and express our gratitude....your words have enriched our lives.

    All the best!!

Akron, Ohio.....Just advised that we are near the front and as close to the center as we can be.  I sure hope this note reaches David!!!

    very nice note yellowandgray

DG's songs have enriched so many lives - I think that is one of several reasons he is such a distinguished artist

One word of caution though and want to help you manage expectations..........never say never but he has not perfromed the other side on either the first US tour nor on this recent UK tour - that said he did perform a rousing version of it during the bare bones tour in luzern in 2007 so maybe just maybe

Have fun and hope you get to meet David

Thank you for the nice remarks...we'll keep our fingers crossed for our song, but I know we won't be disappointed regardless of his set list.

I guess with David, you never know. I have heard him say that sometimes he changes his mind at the last minute or is not sure what he will play until the moment comes. I was very lucky to see him perform The Other Side in Atlanta last April. If I remember correctly, he was out on stage alone or it might just have been that the set was very dark(I was far back). It was such an awesome show.... he also performed Freedom and Say Hello Wave Goodbye. Amazing......and my first DG show!

We are sure ready for it.  His 'on stage passion' is certainly second to none (at least for us).
