There are some gigs that stay with me more than others, for whatever reason, and I think tonight will be one of them. I enjoyed the energy of the crowd, the acoustics of the venue, David's mood, and, of course, the setlist. What a setlist! Everything flowed so well tonight - one song went into another, into another, and so on - until, sadly, it had to end. Some real gems tonight and even the standards sounded better for some reason. David commented that Fugitive has gotten hopeful in its old age and I think that's a good way to put it. It is an uplifting crowd pleaser that I always enjoy hearing. I could listen to Nemesis all night, every night. I just love it live. I don't know how or why or if it's just my love of it but it sounds better every time I hear it. The solo section, what can I say - all good and a very postive crowd reaction. So very happy to get Ain't No Love tonight. It is and always has been one of my favorites and hearing it from the choir just gives me chills and makes me very, very happy. David got most of the crowd singing along and standing for the end of Babylon, which was fun. Because of the time (getting late!) there was no official break before what would have been the encore (they never left the stage/came back as they usually do) but basically Sail Away was performed as the encore. The crowd was very upbeat and obviously very happy to have David in Charlotte tonight and it gave the night (and I think David, too) a very positive and fun energy that made for a very enjoyable atmosphere. Some gigs are more uptight or serious in a way, but this show just had a lighter tone that I enjoyed very much. Overall just a very, very good show that I'm happy to have been able to attend.

Wow!!!!! I'm riding in the car with a bunch of crazies and having so much fun! Last nights crowd was intoxicated and "colorful" at the least. They were amusing David so much he had to try at least 3 times to start a song because he couldn't stop laughing. We all had so much fun interacting with David as a group. The normal shout outs that can seem annoying seemed to amuse him and had fun with it. Which is why they didn't have any time left to leave and come back for the encore. I have been waiting for a show with this type of enery in this size of a venue. Song of the night for us was definitely Only The Wine!!!
P.S. Tina has some awesome videos for you all when she gets home. I must say I can't stop watching.

David was awesome! But I have to disagree about the crowd. I found the people shouting out so annoying and I think he was over it too. He didn't even introduce the band. I think he couldn't wait to get off the stage. The person who made him laugh definitely amused him but I think the shout outs, the obvious intoxication and the police escorting people out was enough. I personally couldn't stand all the people getting up and down to get another drink. I've seen David in Los Angeles back in early 2000 then again at the Ryman in 2005. All the concerts have been completely different, but great.
