Let's remember our dear Djk who would have turned 57 years young today. So I will raise a pint to him tonight and let's all try to make people smile today... Here is a picture of Dave you may not have seen before. It's him posing as an extra in a historical BBC production from 2004.

Thank you very much for posting that lovely picture of Djk. It's him to a 'T'. These pages aren't the same without him - he is sorely missed.

What a great photo....what an intriguing life he led...this reminded me of his story of meeting DG on the video shoot....such a great experience.... so very cool..... thank you for sharing that Rena....brought a smile to my face, which was what he was all about.

Thank you for this photo, which I have never seen. I agree with Sigmadelta that it does fit him. It has the feeling of being ages ago. And Nevermind, I'm right there with you missing him badly and dear Rena, a great time to celebrate his day. Kari and I have our evening planned and will raise a few in his honour.

This is really our DJK. Thank you so much for sharing Rena. I'm with you Nevermind and Eileen. Miss him badly and i can't believe a year had gone so quickly. Now, i'm in London again, just arrived. Only to be here is such a strong reminder to DJK. I'm sad, no doubt of it, but at the same time ,when i look around, feel the cold air i just remember and smile. Tonight i'm sure many raised up in his honour . If you do so have a great evening and a smile on your face.

It is a sad day he is not here with us to celebrate in person. But I am sure he is up in the heavens somewhere having his own party, in his own silly way. That is a great photo Rena, thank you for sharing this. Eileen and I are going to a local pub for some good music and drinks in Davies honor tonight. Can't wait to see you Eileen!

Thanks for sharing this great photo Rena, i hadn't seen this one before either or heard of the story behind it, will look forward to hearing all about it next time we meet. Been thinking of Dave today on his special day, which he shares with my mam. Happy birthday Dave, missing you and your precious smile.x My thoughts are with his family and friends as today will have been very hard on them.

I spent a large part of my day trying to think of the right thing to say. While you are no longer here physically, dear Dave, we have those around us who can share the perfect photo, the warmth you gave us, your smile in our hearts. You left a void that we can never fill, yet the hole in our hearts can remind us of your loving spirit. We may mourn, but may we find comfort in knowing that when we see Dave again, he will have so many great stories of heaven to tell us. I look forward to hearing his famous giggle again, and I'll be sure to snap his suspenders once. After all, it won't hurt in heaven. Happy birthday, my dear friend. Raise a glass of nectar to us, the ones you left behind in grief. Play a ditty on your harp and smile to us through the clouds. Keep smiling....it's Dave!

How blessed Dave was to have so many friends here. A better friend I could never wish for, I love that pic you posted of him BW ~~ he's gone on, to another gig now, and, as always smiling

Hi Eileen - I wonder whether Dave ever knew how many friends he had. He didn't court friendship - it came to him quite naturally.
