First, I would like to ask David if he would teach me how to make blackberry jam. It's my favorite, but my Granny only makes freezer jams (which is an entirely different jam making process), so a lesson in cooked jam would be quite a treat. Then, are you still working with your pals at ATO Records? I'm confused about that part--isn't the new album being released on Downtown Records (in the U.S.)? What happened there? Last, would you ever consider recording in the Caribbean?
See you in NYC, David Gray. Bookstore performance. Freakin' sweet.

Hey Kendall, Thanks for letting us know about this opportunity. Hey David, I was wandering what is your favorite venue to play a live show? Also who was your favorite superhero as a kid? Ben

Thanks for giving us the chance to throw some questions into the ring! My question would be: Do you consider yourself an introvert or an extrovert? I’m curious because it seems to take elements of both personalities to be both an artist and a performer. Given this, which elements of the whole process (writing, arranging, performing, promoting, etc.) do you find most unsuited to your personality? How do you cope? Christine

My question to David is: How do you prepare yourself for a gig? You always put so much energy and passion into your shows and I often wonder how you do it over and over again. Do you meditate, guzzle an energy drink or just relax before a show? Thanks for the music.

What a great opportunity! While in a liberal studies class in grad school, we were given a chance to write about anything we wished but we were supposed to write about it in reference to our major. My major was psychology and I chose to write about you and your music. Would you ever consider reading it and sharing your response? As a professional musician, I’m sure that you have come across people that ask for your opinion of their own music, have you ever listened to a ‘new’ musicians music and had to tell them that it was no good? Have you ever come across anyone that has totally taken the meaning of a song of yours and turned it completely upside down? And if so what was it? --Mindy

So many of his songs lyrics have powerful references and imagery of nature and I think it would be very interesting to hear where he finds his inspirations. When time allows, what out-doors activities (hiking etc) does he enjoy? and/OR What music is in his car cd player right now... who are some of his favorite current artists.

David, 1. About your new album "Draw the Line" you recently said "I know this music is going to do everything I could hope for". What are your personal goals with this album, and when do you consider it to be successful ? 2. I personally think you are eager to show the world that David Gray has got more to offer especially to people that only know you from Babylon, is scoring a new hit single important in that sense ? 3. You like to do covers in your live shows, and even compiled a great CD with them (A thousand miles behind) Is there one song you always wanted to do but have not been able to do it yet ? 4. How does it feel to be on the long list of men that were rejected by Dolly Parton ? All the best, see you soon at the Roundhouse ! Marcel.

Kendall, I have 2 other questions
1. Where did you get the idea for the art work for the new record and what made you go with the 18th century look?
2. Cellist Caroline Dale, who contributed to the Life In Slow Motion record and tour, was seen briefly in the "Making of Jackdaw" video on Youtube. Assuming contribution to the Draw The Line record, will Caroline Dale be contributing to your upcoming tour?
I am the sudden and quite unexpected twist...

Kendall - I have only one question - having seen a number of the latest photographs taken of DG in a suit with a backdrop of an old building - out of curiosity were the photographs taken in Italy - I remember the colour of the buildings there some of which were a mustardy colour - probably better known as Naples Yellow but I could have got the name wrong. Many thanks

Hi, my question for David is, Do you find that you get different reactions in different countries for various songs? Like do the british react more to certain songs than say the americans would? And do you plan to come back to Ireland soon? Many thanks for your hard work, energy, poetic masterpieces and devotion to all that you do. Jamie Condren, Ireland

My question is:
As a fellow songwriter I try to not repeat my formula when writing a song and I've heard you say you try to go in new directions as well. Is there a style of song you want to write but haven't yet. For example: a straight forward story song?
Also, Any chance of releaseing some rare songs like "Crazy"? Please:)
Thanks so much.
