I was watching LISM while folding laundry today.  Its amazing how DG's music can help get one through mind-numbing tasks.

Flipping through the stations on my telly (I do love that expression), I came across an actress I don't know in a movie I don't know, but I did hear the snippet of January Rain, which I DO know. I believe she was walking in an alley in the rain, but I was too absorbed in the music to pay a lot of attention.

What is Argos Ms. Wildhope?  Is it like our Buck or Two or Dollarama?  Can get some great cheap stuff there.

Hey there philly I think the movie may be 'Serendipity' -- John Cuzak (sp) is in it too. January Rain is played as

background music in a key part when the two of them (Kate Beckensale) "find" each other.  I think

its an under rated song. Beautiful, haunting.  Music

Last week 'Silver Lining' was played in a tv documentary about emigrants,  while a beautiful Scandinavian landscape was shown. Nice.

Unfortunately for us here in the States, Mr. Gray isn't as revered as he is in the UK.  Pity that.  So when we hear him on the radio, at least in my part of the world, it's a real treat.  I heard "You're The World To Me" a couple of weeks ago and I was like a kid at Christmas!

The instrumental intro to 'World To Me' is used quite frequently in tv documentaries but I have never heard the song anywhere else over here.

A few months ago in a quite sophisticated documentary about literature and music in the 1960ies on the radio the speaker said that 1968 was a special year because it was the year David Gray was born.

I am so fond of my local radio station because they play David each and every day, even songs that weren't big hits. Today it was a big hit though - 'Babylon' - and what they said was that this was by David Gray, one of the most talented songwriters of all time. Smile

I heard Babylon yesterday at a convenience store, a version I'd never heard. It sounded almost as a mix - I barely recognized the opening bars, but the words came through. Very Cool.

This past Saturday night I was having dinner with friends at a popular restaurant here.

The music was very loud, we could hardly hear each speak. To my wonderful surprise

DG comes on with Everytime  :-)  Never have I heard that played anywhere other than my

CD player. It was Wonderful, Wonderful, yes Very Cool   Yes

Someone sent me this link, plug in David Gray and it will play one of his songs and then other artists and back to him again.  There is a troubadour channel and some others thatn he is on as well.

This is not directly a "I heard David" post, but rather a funny coincidence. Yesterday I overheard one of our sales reps on the phone talking to his client named Phil. Phil recently opened a restaurant in a small city in New York called Babylon. Very clearly I heard my friend ask Phil -"So how do you like Babylon?" I decided it wouldn't be prudent (and probably confusing to him) to reply.

I was in a shopping center today, going from shop to shop, different christmas songs being played in every shop. Then passing a hardware store I heard Sail Away and I just had to go in and look around pretending to be interested in power tools!!! just to listen to it.
