    Noooooooo!!!!!! Your book is wrong again,i,m afraid.

    3rd May 1494.Christopher Columbus discovered Jamaica-by mistake!!!! Also,bet you didn,t know this-

    He was actually Italianwink

    I got the above information from wikipedia Gumby;

    3 rd May -1494 - Christopher Columbus first sights land that will be called Jamaica.

    5th - 1494 - Christopher Columbus lands on the island of Jamaica and claims it for Spain

    Smile

    Ha,tis' good that you have dumped the diary ElysiumBig Smile(well,for this thread at least)You are of course right,i too have just checked on wikipedia.However,i didn,t first time round-still pretty damn close recalling from memory tho'Wink And...to be fair,you got me on a technicality-which you had to look up anyway! It,s all very well copying dates down for this thread,but i wonder,for example, how many of you had even heard of the 1916 Irish uprising before i corrected the date? I can safely say,i,ve forgotten more than you lot know!WinkAlso i didn,t dispute Columbus claimed Jamaica for Spain,(just said he wasn,t Spanish).Always a good question for a pub quiz-What nationality was Columbus?

    Lol! I never heard of this scaterking Hawk until read the book Slam by Nick Hornby! It's about a 17-year-old skateboarder named Sam whose life changes drastically when his girlfriend gets pregnant. Sam's hero is this Tony Hawk and so he talks to Tony Hawk, the skateboarding king and Hawk talks back to Sam. Tony Hawk may even be whisking him into the future on a couple of occasions to help him prepare for what’s coming. I recommend the book!
