what are these lyrics about please?

Its my understanding that this song David wrote about a good friend who killed himself.  Its a sad one and also about the feelings of those left behind.

It does say on the lyrics "for Stephen" and each time I hear the song the image quality improves. Whoever Stephen was I really hope and pray he is at peace .

David speaks from the heart on a level most can't... and I am sure, as with the genuinly gifted, he has helped people to understand and to heal

I think Bluewater is right. Somewhere in the interwub I read that this song is about David's friend Stephen who suffered from a muscular disease called "St. Vitus" (Chorea). He commited suicide.

It's sad story and such a beautiful song!
