    Hi myCariad,

    According to my Diary it was on 8 may that Margret Thatcher became Prime minister, but you are right.

    The day that she became prime minister was my Grandfathers funeral and it was snowing, i was too young to remember but my mam always mentions it when we have bad weather this time of year.

    My Diary entry for today;

    03 may

    The first all race elections were held in South Africa.
