Well I will have another go - got started but site crashed and seems to have lost my first attempt :-s

Hi. I had a great night at the TCT concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Sunday night. Seeing so many performers of the caliber we saw on that night was awsome. I will post pics of the other performers on a different thread as this is just for our David.

I have to honestly say that for me the best performance of the night was from our own DG. He did Song to the Siren. I have heard this one before but David's voice and the acoustics in the RAH made this a "hair sticking up on the back of the neck" performance!!! I was in awe at this one! It reminded me of the first time I saw DG. It was in 2002 and i went up to london to shoot The Other Side video. We were in a big empty warehouse. Through the day the song was being sung from a cd player so we could all move at the right time. Then at one stage we were told to be quiet as DG was going to be recorded singing. DG had earphones so there was no other noise. I was stood about 4ft away from DG as he sang a verse of The Other Side. it was awsome. Everyone were just still and quiet and staring. Even one of the production staff said the hairs on the back of his and on other's necks were standing on end. I got the same feeling again on Sunday. Oops sorry for the nostalgia!

So here are some pics from the night. I have cheated a little :-s as some are of a big screen that was at the back of the stage. They had a little camera on the end of a long clothes pole ;-) and this gave some amazing views of the performances. It should be obvious which pics are of the screen.

For those who have not seen it this is the Royal Albert Hall.

Our seats were good too. you can just see the bottom corner of the screen in the top left of the pic.

A view of the magnificent Royal Albert Hall.

    The first one - TOIL.

    I like this one!

I think it was at this point where DG says he had a set list but was let down by a couple of friends. Something to do with babies being born. i think there will be a couple of P45's in the post lol. He said his set list has gone so will have to see how it goes!!! But it wasn't a bad one ;-)

The awsome Song to the Siren!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    The last note of Siren

Now The Other Side - Here the mic started to droop and DG said he needed help. You will have seen this on the video posted. From where we were his head kept going lower and he started to look around for help lol as in this pic from the clothes pole camera!!

Here he is telling people not to get involved in the music business because of the hassle - this was just after the mic got some support!

Dave gets a round of applause as he continues after the mic problems.

He leaves the piano waving his arms and saying thats it no more on the piano haha

As he is getting ready for the final number someone on fron row were talking to him about a phone no on stage - I think they were talking to others on stage about it too - DG handled it great - did a little moon walk - see pic below - and said this was like going for a kebab LOLOL

Dave says nothing and just starts to play but the crowd recognise Babylon after just a couple of notes.

Only got one pic which was the final note of the final song then DG leaves the stage to great applause and a standing ovation.

This was a great experience. Thanks Dave for selecting my pic so I and my friend could attend.

Great to see all the other winners there too and looking forward to seeing the winning entries.

The night did not finish here and more will be revealed on another thread :-s

    Keep smiling - It's free!
    Djk
    :-)

Great pics Dave. As always. Thanks for sharing.

I especially like the last one.

And this Royal Albert Hall is definitely a special venue. I'd certainly like to see more concerts at this place.
