Hi farmboy,

that's strange because DG was born in Wales? I don't know why he always use this tartan-like carpet. As far as I know there is a similar carpet in his own studio in London,Crouch Hill. Maybe he uses this kind of carpet as his mojo?

Sorry but David was not born in Wales but in Sale/Manchester (that's where his enthusiasm for ManU originates from). His parents moved to Solva/Wales when David was a young boy.

The guys on stage do use the pattern on the mats to line up the equipment.

I do not know if it has some deep meaning to DG though. He was using them on the Bare Bones tour last year as well.

If they didn't have tartan on the floor, it would have "kilt" the boards. Only to be mended with Scotch tape

Am not too sure of the significance of the Tartan rugs but am wondering if they are the 'Gray' tartan, as it is a Scottish name and has it's own clan??? Just a thought.
