Spoke to someone at record co. today proposal no good...will not look at total revenue gained through efficiency means-more keen on people numbers being 2000+ i suppose now DG is big there are so many people holding their hands out!! problem is when you get big you loose that personal touch and the ability to make your own decisions due to contract ties!, -it's like being owned by someone. unfortunately  this world is made up of numbers which seems to be more important these days... Thanks for your help anyway..Darren

thanks for your support-last time i wanted to get hold of him i drove and handed him a letter and got my result! i have spent 2 days phoning around to get pre-post arrangements sorted and raise £22,000 !! there is only so much i can do this end...if you get any joy i will hold things in place for a while-i think it needs more than 1 person to push really and i don't think there is enough support on this site-i can arrange venue, finance and things i mentioned happily..my mail address is djharris66@googlemail.com if you do any good! thanks once again. d

Darren, I have spoken to iht records - Mondo Management - and he was saying that as he had just finished a tour they would be in the studio with the new album.  He did not say no but he did not say yes either all he did say was that at the end of this year or even at the beginning of next year when the album is released and then they tour they may do something then.  I have tried.  The next thing I will do is write to them and really lay it on thick!!!

I would like to go but I fear that the jet fuel my plane will expel into the atmosphere will defeat the purpose of the event ie. what about the trees?  Great enthusiasm folks, don't give up.
Still trying to shed my shenpa...

I have hand delivered the letter of the gig proposal for Dec 2008 when i went to the Albert hall yesterday, he is on his own record label so that minimizes intervention by management and contractual agreements to a degree i suppose, i can do no more than i have done now-it is up to the "master"now i'm afraid!!

I am glad that you actually handed David the letter.  I was thinking that this was the best option but did not how to go about it.  You have managed all of that and more!  Well, as you say, it is up to the "master"!

yes well we'll see, i am doubtful that he would reply now (a week later) and im off to the alps on saturday for a week, so if nothing comes back to me by the time i return i will right it off-it will run me out of time to be honest if it's much later anyway.. i did ask if he would let me know either way but no word so i now wonder whether he even opened it or if his guy passed the proposal on to him or not!- i guess i maybe 4 or 5 years too late and to be honest if i had what he had i prob wouldn't be bothered either...

                                          have a pleasant week all...d

Hi there, how are you i am sorry to say that i haven't - i was a little disappointed to be honest as i thought it was a realistic offer-had i been offered that i would have been chuffed and sent some kinda reply no matter what!..an answer would have just been nice-,  thank you for your support in the attempt though-it is nice to see some people still make the effort and support the cause..Darren

yes it was really, but we have managed to get Chris Rea to do a 2 x 30 minute session instead-he has done some beautiful music over the years-just need to set a final date-am looking at 2nd sat in December tickets will be on sale via a ticket agency we are setting up called "cheap thrill entertainments" and are priced at £99-00 each (this includes food and a drinks voucher) if you are interested in tickets let me know.
