My suggestion for this board? That something is done to save it going totally down the pan (although to be honest, it's already most of the way there). [NEW PARAGRAPH]] This place has completely and utterly gone to the dogs. Whereas it may be thriving in the "creaming our pants over David's jam and views on English towns" section, the rest of the board has died. I have absolutely no problem with people who think that way about David Gray - until now we've always been able to live alongside each other in perfect harmony. However, the treatment of the old regulars, in favour of the new super fans has been nothing short of disgusting. We were here long before the majority of people who now make the majority of posts on here, we were here before Kendall, Rena and the new administration yet we are being classed lower than second class citizens. We don't think of ourselves as better than the newbies or superior to them - we are equals and should be treated as such. [NEW PARAGRAPH] Take a look at the General section or whatever it's called now. There can't be any more than 5 or 6 people who post regularly. So many people, myself included, have been driven away from here but no one seems to care. It feels like the admin are just waiting until every last one of us is finally gone. The general section of the old BB was everything - a pub, a family, a support group, an outlet - it's now a shell. [NEW PARAGRAPH] We asked for minimal active moderating and it initially seemed that adult conversations were had, our view was listened to and we were given that. However, if we realised how many toys would have been thrown out of the pram as a result we'd probably not have bothered! There is a difference between minimal moderation and totally ignoring us. Although the general section, as a section of the board, may not be actively moderated, you are still the admin of this site and you have a duty to inform everyone, accept everyone's queries and/or complaints and answer PMs. You agreed not to moderate a particular board but you do still have to moderate individual people. [NEW PARAGRAPH] When people complained about too many boards, both you and Rena suggested that we all collapse the forums so we can only see the forum that concerns us, so we did. Now we are being penalised for doing so. If a poll is to be set which affects EVERY member of this site, then that poll or notification of that poll should be posted on each and every board and sub board. That wouldn't mean you were breaking your no moderation "agreement", it would mean that you were informing which I daresay your role entitles you to do. And as for Rena not being "allowed" in the general section - what a complete and utter load of petty nonesense. Rena was an active member of this site before becoming a mod and should be "allowed" to post wherever the hell she likes! Every other site I belong to has the moderators posting happily alongside everyone else and only putting on their mod hat when it's required. [NEW PARAGRAPH] I know there have been members who have PM'd you, Kendall, about abusive PMs from other members yet they've been ignored. No matter what section of the forum that person frequents, you still have a duty to deal with such reports. There have been serious concerns about a member of this forum making, potentially illegal statements yet how do you respond? You move the concerned thread into the general section so you don't have to read the thread or take appropriate action. That absolutely stinks. Again, no matter where something is posted, if members raise concerns then you are required by your job description to deal with those concerns - not hide them somewhere you can ignore. [NEW PARAGRAPH] The people of the general section may not have shrines to David Gray in our bedrooms, we may not have pots of jam with his wobbly head in the jars and we may not travel the globe following the man himself but our views and opinions are just as valid as anyone elses. We're still members of a site that you run and you have a duty to treat us equally. That means we have to be listened to when we have concerns (which in all honesty, isn't that often), we have to be informed of potential changes to the site and the use of our personal information and we need to be treated as something more than the annoying kid brother. [NEW BLOODY PARAGRAPH] I hope you listen to and respond to my concerns as I'm posting this in the Suggestions forum - a part of the board that you DO moderate.

I apologise wholeheartedly about the lack of paragraphs. Seems that right has been removed from me too....

Hi HeatherA, Thanks for posting this in the correct section. As stated before it makes things a great deal easier for me when they are posted in the appropriate sections.

Based on the events in the last few days it seems that a few people are upset that we didn't post a bulletin in the General Discussion area regarding the Birthday function poll, is this correct?

Kendall, People are upset at everything I've highlighted in my post above. Yes, the birthday poll - or rather the lack of notification of it - is just one of the things. It's rather disheartening to take the time to compose rather a long post, highlighting the issue that members have only to have the majority of it ignored and only one part commented on. I appreciate the time you've taken to read it (which isn't an easy task without paragraphs!), but would be happier if the majority of my points hadn't been disregarded.

Can I just hop in and politely ask (again) when the paragraphs issue will be addressed? Thanks.
    Allegedly.

hi HeatherA, I'm trying to get down to the core issue so let's knock the first block out of the way.

Note that this birthday function poll is not highlighted in the davidgray.com forum section either. So I'm unclear as to how this is unfair.

Also if your post about me not dealing with board members concerns pertains to who I think you're speaking of then that is completely untrue. I have replied to all who have Pm'ed me about an issue they might have.

I read a while ago that you figured that out and now you are able to type in paragraphs. And from what I can see in posts as recent as today you have had no problems inserting line breaks into your post.

Excuse me while I just close my laptop, scream at the top of my lungs, and then open it up again won't you.

Ermm, no you haven't.   have received no such reply regarding the abusive pm I complained about over two weeks ago.

It's not so much the core issue as it's the straw that broke the camel's back.
