nevermind:
you took your time, are the rest on their way? we dont look here because theres no point to it, does that mean we dont get a say on things that concern us, and whether its birthdays, brazillians or sexual preferences, we're still entitled to a say, are you a mod here too now?

Actually nevermind it's not up to us to look at the suggestions. Since kendall is no doubt getting paid for his involvement in here, it is up to him or his representatives to inform us of anything that reveals anything that we don't want to be revealed. A date of birth can be used for identity fraud. The knowledge if someone has a brazillian wax or not can't be. So if by some chance someone take my date of birth and uses it in relation to some sort of fraud, I will point any legal team in the direction of this board and to whoever took the decision to display birthdays. It should be a case of opting in to have it displayed, not opting out.
So explain what exactly is ridiculous about that?

Just having an opinion here doesn't make me a mod. Weren't you the ones fighting for "freedom of speech" recently?

Have you decided to ignore my point about identity theft nevermind? Or just logging in as someone else?

Ooh I'm sure I speak for all the general posse when I APOLOGISE with all my heart for boring you with our threads. I'm sure discussing how David Gray makes jam out of... no way... fruit and water, is thrilling for some people. Or what kind of clothes David Gray likes to wear. Or whether David Gray prefers Heinz chicken or vegetable soup (when's that one coming up? Can I sign up for text alerts?).
Allegedly.

A few quick points to clarify 1) Rena staying out of the general discussion forum is something I asked her to do. 2) This poll is treated the same as any other poll we have had on the site. Majority rules 3) The ability to have birthdays visible is a suggestion made by a member so the Suggestions forum is the proper place for this poll. I hope this clears things up. Now if you haven't voted, make your voice heard by selecting the option you would like and we'll announce the vote in 2 weeks. Cheers.

kendall, you say majority rules, but looking at the poll, its pretty even, 25 have voted, so im guessing 13 say yes, and 12 say no, if the voting was to end there, are you saying you would go ahead and display them? that doesnt seem right to me, you would discount almost half the voters, for a majority of 1, that doesnt seem very democratic,

Rena:In order to avoid multiple equal posts a message has to be posted in the forum it fits in best. The suggestions forum obviously is the best place to start a poll on board issues. Rena
Then how come there is a thread started by the mods titled "We are looking for your Suggestions" in the "All About David" section? In that case you are looking for suggestions from people who frequent the "All About David" section only? Is that why it fits best in that forum?

It all comes back down to the simple fact that having mods who are regular posters brings problems. Rena has always posted more on the music section and, as such, all the suggestions and announcements are now being directed towards her own group of friends. Because we (on general) asked for no moderation, this has been taken to mean we don't want mods to post or include us, which is ridiculous and was never what was asked for. But there was very much an air of "Well fine, if you don't want us to moderate, stuff you all." What, did you think we'd trip up and beg for moderation back? Was it some childish form of punishment? We didn't want your moderation so you're just going to ignore us and leave us out in the cold? I think it's important to bear in mind that the reason things escalated the way they did on general, with the FAOs and everyone demanding an unmoderated board, was because issues were not addressed and thus people felt pushed into action. God knows, a lot of people tried to solve the issues they were having with all the changes politely before things escalated the way they did. Several members stated their annoyance with threads constantly being moved and merged, etc. There are still several thousand non-DG related threads on 'All About David', but we post ONE, to get the attention of a regular poster in that forum, and it's swiftly swept back into General. How hypocritical is that. These issues have still not been looked at. And I'm sick of even asking when I'm going to be able to write in paragraphs, as are a lot of regulars, as we're just not getting any answers. Is it really that insurmountable? How CRAP does it make this site look, when people come here and can't even type in paragraphs? I've never known another which does this! Isn't there anyone there with any technical knowledge? [NEW PARAGRAPH] I think the mods on this site will find that things would be fine if they bothered to listen to the concerns of the people who have been here the longest.
Allegedly.

The suggestions we asked for in that section are related to the site and what people would like to see regarding David. That's why it's posted there. I hope this answers your question

You could have asked us what we'd like to see posted regarding David. :p

I'm going to start emailing about Katy's paragraph issue too. Her posts are entirely too difficult to read these days, but still as important as ever. I would appreciate this issue being fixed immediately.

As I have told you countless times, Kendall, in fact I informed you of this BEFORE the boards were even made public, the suggestion you posted for people having problems does not work. It does not work for Safari users. I did think you were keeping your promise to 'try and sort it out' but had just had problems doing so. It seems this is not the case, and you'd just forgotten all about it. Which is great for me and all the other Safari users who have been patiently waiting for the issue to be resolved all this time. I typed the post to the above mentioned thread on my WORK computer. And thanks for replying to Courtney's question about my issues. Much appreciated.
