What is the best way to get good seats for a David Gray concert?  I have booked through the pre-sale several times, always at the time booking opens and have never had very good seats.  As I am not given seat numbers until the tickets arrive, it is impossible to judge whether to buy them or not.  I get the feeling that the venues hold back the best seats for their own clients.  Is this true?

Looking forward to the concerts, though.

    Dear Kendall

According to various press releases this tour will be in support of David's Greatest Hits album.

    As taken from metro.co.uk Dec 4, 2007 :

David Gray to Sail Away on tour

Good news for fans of David Gray - the English singer-songwriter has announced that he will be back touring the UK next year.

The tour, which kicks off on March 3 at the Corn Exchange in Edinburgh, will include 14 live dates and concludes at London's Hammersmith Apollo on March 20.

The popular singer - who has toured in the past with Radio Head and Jeff Buckley - will give fans the opportunity to hear tracks from across his recording career, a period covering seven albums and 11 million album sales.

But fans of the star may be most excited to hear him perform live versions of This Year's Love, one of the most memorable tracks taken from his acclaimed album White Ladder.

The spring dates follow the release of the singer's Greatest Hits and a sold-out UK tour which featured three nights at London's Roundhouse.

Apparently we can expect his new album to be with us next Autumn.

    UK tour dates:

    March

    3 Corn Exchange, Edinburgh

    4 City Hall, Sheffield

    6 The Apollo, Manchester

    7 Engine Shed, Lincoln

    8 Auditorium, Grimsby

    10 Victoria Hall, Halifax

    11 Guildhall, Preston

    12 Colston Hall, Bristol

    14 Guildhall, Southhampton

    15 Symphony Hall, Birmingham

    16 Dome, Brighton

    18 New Theatre, Oxford

    19 Corn Exchange, Cambridge

    20 Hammersmith Apollo, London

It depends on what the artists requests themselves although the ticket agencies are very greedy and do generally hold back the seats. I went to see OMD several times this year and swopped my tickets for front row on the day of the show!

    Hi Lakeside,

The seats offered through the presale are shown on the specific ticket pages.

We assign seats on a first come, first serve basis so your seats will appear in order within the section we are selling. Although seating assignments are not issued at the time of purchase, we will email you with the seats prior to them being mailed out.

I hope this answers your question.
