From Here You Can Almost See The Sea

One of the best songs ever written and the world just won't notice.

You're right! But don't you worry, over here are certainly a few who noticed that this is a really great song.

My current top 3 (may change from day to day) of the most underrated David Gray songs:

    1. From Here You Can Almost See The Sea
    2. A Clean Pair Of Eyes
    3. What Am I Doing Wrong
    4. edited: I forgot another great song:
                 "Long Gone Now"!
                 It's a b-side from a Alibi single.

I do like your choices, but I do not know your 3rd choice. Where can I hear this song?  I love the idea of finding a new song that I haven't heard. Wink

Every DG song is underated in my book. A couple of my favorites are Onley the Lonley  from Sell,Sell,Sell and Falling Down the Mountain Side from Lost songs , when the piano comes in it is amazing. Also the live  from Dublin version of Lead You Up Stairs is great. One all DG fans have to hear more of is my personal all time favorite song  Easy Way to Cry from a new dat at midnight truly a awsome song!!

DG is the best or one of the best singer songwriters in the history of music. Most artist have there songs and music written for them but not DG he dose almost all of them all on his own our with Clune when they were toghther. That is a true artist if you ask me. Think he writes the song then the music then he puts it toghther and perfroms it and the end result is outstanding!! That is why he is so good live and his songs are so toughing because his lyrics and music are his own and that is what puts him above everybody else in my book.

"Gathering dust"  from "Century ends" is a very underated song,is there a more lyrical lament in the DG collection???

I think all of David's underrated songs come off of Sell, Sell, Sell. His fushion with electric and folk on this album shows the begginings of the White Ladder sound. The best songs on this album are Magdelena, What Am I Doing Wrong, Gutters Full of Rain.

I agree with you too and I am so glad you said what you did. Sell, sell, sell was the first album I owned because a friend liked it. I also love the song "Hold On To Nothing"

Gathering dust certainly has strong and resonant lyrics, but you could argue that about any DG song.

I think alibi is up there with the underrated songs though
