As you may remember I wasn't too impressed by his concert in Berlin last year but his new album will be out later this week and the Irish Hot press magazine will let you listen to two of the songs online...

Now I really like the first one. Very nice. It has this Vic Chesnutt feeling to it. Have I said 'very nice' yet?...

hey rena, why exactly weren't you impressed by glen's gig? sorry, i don't recall. because i saw him with his bands a few times and was not only impressed but inspired in a way, especially with he frames. my only explanation would be that a solo show can be a bit monotonously?

here you can listen to the whole record btw:

to me it sounds a bit soft at some points but also very mellow in a positive way. my love for glen's solo work comes mainly from loving him as a human-being (or what i think he is like as a human-being), so for me it is a 'must-buy'.

    Hi Ryan,

thanks for the link. To answer your question - he was solo and his performance desperately needed a band. After three songs it was all the same. Actually it was one of the very few gigs I left early. I have to admit though that he has a very few songs I quite like.

I have to admit I have never really gotten there either although rena thought I was a fan on fb :)

I totally hear you ryan on the person part and that is why he is always very much admired - and I just love his personna at gigs etc..........just never totally drawn to him as a performer - and loved once

and I love damo - so I am in the outhouse (again) as glenn is HUGE with damo fans.........

if you are interested i would recommend the swell seasons documentary. it shows where he comes from and how the academy awards affected the band and relationship.
