Hi all! I'm pretty new to all this forum stuff. Actually, it's the only forum I've ever joined. I made a boo boo and didn't introduce myself when I started posting recently. I apologize. I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to forums. lol... Is there a "Forums for Dummies" manual out there that I can read? Ha! Anyway, my name is Michelle. I'm from North Carolina and I've been a David Gray fan for about 10 years. I remember the exact moment I heard him play the piano and sing. I was running around the house like a crazy person packing to transfer from New Orleans back to North Carolina and I heard him on TV. I stopped dead in my tracks and my husband and I looked at each other and said, "Who in the world is that?" at the same time. I've been hooked since. I finally got to see him live for the 1st time this past April. I never fully understood the whole Grateful Dead following them around thing until I saw David & the boys live. I didn't need a car to get home after that concert. I could have floated home I was so happy. And I would have loved to have been able to drop everything and follow them to each city. My best friend, Samantha, went with me. She only knew the song Babylon and she was blown away, also. She's now a diehard fan, too. We had such a phenomenal time that when tickets went on sale for Merriweather we decided we had to go again. We have all our fingers and toes crossed for them to return to the South next year to promote 'Foundling'. At which time I really hope I can meet up with some of you all on here. I wish I had discovered the joy of this forum prior to the April concert but I know now and I hope to correct my oversight.
It's been a lot of fun reading everyone's posts. It's like a real family around here. And it's so nice not to have to answer the question, "Who's David Gray?" If I had a dime for every time I get that question around here my 7 year olds college tuition would be paid for by now. lol...
So, with that said, I'm pleased to meet you all and look forward to participating in future discussions. And thank you to all who make this site possible.
~Michelle~
PS - I think I read somewhere about posting your birth date. Mine is May 21st. I just celebrated the 14th anniversary of my 25th birthday. Ha ha ha ha ha ha!
