    Complete Lyrics:

    A million to one outsiders
    Nightblindness
    Can't see

    Your bright eyes are what
    The time is
    Twenty five past eternity

    Hear you listening
    To the sirens
    Coming closer
    Now further away

    (Chorus)
    What we gonna do
    When the money runs out
I wish that there was something left to say
Where we going to find the eyes to see
    A brighter day

I'm sick of all the same old answers
    Lost chances
    Cold storms

    Propping mountains up
    On matchsticks
    Dragging baskets
    Full of bones

    And honey please don't stop
    Your talking
    'Cause there's a feeling
    Won't leave me alone

    (Chorus)
    What we gonna do
    When the money runs out
I wish that there was something I could say
How we going to find the eyes to see
    A brighter day

    What we gonna do
    When the money runs out
I wish that there was something left to say
How we going to find the eyes to see
    A brighter day?

    A brighter day
    A brighter day

Sorry to dig up a 3 month thread, but there is quite a conundrum that I absolutely need to have solved and it's kinda fruitless to start yet another Nightblindness thread, so here we go:

Was doing my paper w/ Nightblindness (live @ Wiltern 2007 version) in the bg, and the infamous "new" verse comes up...seems like it's yet another variation from the DTL version listed above:

Down the street of foam, voices

    White Horses, old tunes

Coulnd't find the words, to tell you

    Don't believe it, ?everywhere?

    Jack the lad.....

Where were you when I needed you, where were you, where were you

When I was hunched over, curled up in a ball

living it up, laughing it up, burning it up, sniffing it up,  shocking it up, drinking it up...

Somewhere on the other side of the world....somewhere on the other side

    - and then a bridge to "Other Side"....j/k lol , would be deadly though

But anyhoo, effing brilliant, absolutely effacing...are those another verse to Nightblindness, or a cover? (which I doubt)

PS: anyone still has an acoustic version of Nightblindness from http://www.djoliver.dsl.pipex.com/html/downloads.htm that will kindly share with me? ;d Still just digging my way around here so still a lot to take it.

The Luzern 07 version also has "where were you when I was flushing it all down the toilet". Also "laughing it up with your new friends on the other side of the world, ha, ha, ha.. yeah.. talk to the hand!". There's few 07 gigs on archive.org, and even though the quality isn't that good, he actually does the last stuff prettty differently every time even if it's the same lines.

You might also wanna check some performances from beginning of 2000, the end is also different.

One could write a book just about these various versions of NB, I have often wondered whether he thinks about it ahead of time or whether it just pours out instantaneously. Perhaps its a bit of both.

P.S. found a definition for Jack the Lad which is:

    1. (British slang) An irresponsible young man, seeking personal pleasure without regard to responsibilities. A rogue

So glad someone else is attempting to hear it, I have been trying, but can't get it yet.  I'll follow your thread and (hopefully) we'll both hear his heart on this one.
