as you say art is art..............I simply don't care for it - and sure glenn is entitled to his own opinion!

the "jersey boy" stuff never did anything for me either

well the thing is art is not necessarily art, in fact most of the stuff isn´t art. what i wanted to say is that somebody living songwriting and performing has a different take on the music business than a regular listener.

dca, didn´t even "nebraska" do it´s thing for you? one of the records dg totally praises?

I understood your point on glenn.............disagree most isn't art - I think any one who creates something that people listen to or look at or read or smell or whatever in some way must be considered an artist

and just as glenn has his opinion so can DG - doesn't change the way I feel about his music - just don't care for it period - and while I understand your point on their point of reference I don't necessarilly go running every time one of these guys makes a recommendation - got me in trouble recently with THATH as I went in for a band they were all crazy about and it was horrible noise if you ask me! lol

yeah but no but yeah but no but yeah but... no, i wasn´t asking because "his highness" likes it (although he has a brilliant taste. i´ve got a top ten list of his printed in rolling stone mag which was rather cool). just because i think nebraska is a great record. but especially for bruce it is a strange thing to like him in germany because "born in the usa" was his no.1 hit here. anyway, off-topic.

may i ask what band was recommended by the head and heart to you?

a little better the second time around but still not at all convinced...I am pretty sure this came from josiah but not sure - if so you may like them as he also likes father john misty - one I believe you do but I couldn't get there myself....on that note you should go check out josiah johnson's facebook page - he has a bunch of bands liked there - some of which I very much enjoy!

drew grow and the pastors' wives

interesting this conversation is going on inside this thread.........at least some positiveness out of such a senseless tragedy

drew grow, bloody amazing... they look like they drink beer, there a good amount of reverb, they sing together and they have a woman on bass. whatever gives you the chills i guess. i like it a lot. thank you! why don't we do that a lot more?

    YEAH SO ANYWAY

Got in there at 3pm and landed a nice view to the stage in the pit. Not quite first row but pretty damn close. It is an amazing experience to be there with 40k ppl behind you.

At 6pm I almost crapped my pants when Bruce popped up to do a 5 song (!) acoustic set before the show while there were only like 7k people in. That's happened like two times this tour with a single song.. Now he did five with a sign request thrown in ofc. That set lasted for about 30 minutes. Then he greeted everyone in first row and went backstage.

That was already epic and the gig hadn't even started yet! The gig itself lasted over four hours, making it the longest Bruce show EVER (not including the acoustic set). Too many great moments there to mention here. Quite possibly one of the greatest moments of my life to witness such a legendary gig so close.

    I mean ddddaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

    hey ak, sounds pretty amazing!

@dca: lumineers and howard are okay but maybe a bit to "soft" for me. saw howards kcrw show online, that was great. but i have to admit i once bought a ford record because of your propaganda :)

propoganda has such a utilitarian feel to it....................I would refer to it as my good friend wibbs likes to call american exuberance Smile

need to defer judgement on lumineers until you see them live.................they blew my wife away who was purely along for the ride

new band of the day..............another thath special who toured with them earlier this year - another seattle sound (they must have something in the water..............or something growing in the hills)................the devil whale

btw which ford cd was that??
