Hi there justlovehim,

this is a website where everyone is welcome and where good and bad can indeed be shared. This site is for people who share the love and amiration for David Gray's art and who gather here to discuss his music, their concert anticipation and experiences and for some private chatter too. And sometimes we get a little gift back, meant for the people who have supported David through the years and who continue to do so.

Presale tickets are a gift meant for the real fans and certainly not a benefit to be expected when joining the site. Do not get me wrong, I am not saying you aren't a real fan, I simply have no way of knowing since I haven't seen anything from you apart from asking for tickets. Why not giving something back to the site and sharing your concert experience, the joy it brings when listening to David Gray and his magnificient band.

Of course I see the disappointment when someone loses out on presale tickets. This has happened to me before, too. Nonetheless presale tickets aren't something anyone would be entitled to. The number of tickets given to dg.com vary largely in numbers from gig to gig and are the result of negotiations about each and every gig. If the shop on this site sells some xxx tickets to a concert it sums up next to nothing from the local organizer's point of view. They could easily sell those best seats at even higher prices to local parties. The presales are something extra and are happening only because David and his management wanted to give us this privilege. For the tour promoters and the tour management and dg.com this arrangement only brings extra work.

And let me point out once more - this site is for sharing the appreciation for David's music. Fortunately a lot of people come on here regularily and do so and thus keep the site alive.

You do see the value???!! I certainly cannot tell from your track record - and it is that record that initiated the comment - all you have ever done here is complain - and the one time you were facilitated to your precious tickets you gave NOTHING back in return - I have a good idea of your personality - of course this site is up for both the love of DG but the bb is an open forum for discussion good and bad - I personally however have no time for trolls so as far as this one member is concerned - good riddance 

Yikes!  I feel like this board has been infiltrated by too much negativity!  Please, let's change that, because I am VERY excited about the concert at a small venue that is close to where I live.  This will be my third time seeing David in concert.  I was bummed that I missed David when he came to town last summer for the Basilica Block Party, but this concert will more than make up for it.

With that said, I can understand the frustration felt by some since the website did not send an email about the pre-sale until two hours after the pre-sale had started.  However, I knew about the pre-sale because (1) I checked David's website daily after the announcement of the tour for any new information and (2) I saw the pre-sale information from David's Facebook page on my news feed, which was posted on Thursday.

Reking4 was nice to inform us about the pre-sale through the promoter, Sue McLean.  Maybe those who missed on DG's pre-sale can pay the membership fee and try for tickets through that site (although I am not a member so I don't know if their pre-sale is still open; she promotes a lot of good artists so I am even thinking about joining at a later time).  I also heard that there is a MN Zoo Member pre-sale, so maybe if you know someone who is a member to the zoo....and of course, you can always try the public sale on 4-30, or purchase tickets from StubHub or other similar sites.  Good luck to those who have yet to secure tickets!

I was surprised to have already received an email with my seat assignment.  I am in Row G, center stage, seat 11.  I found a seating chart and from what I can determine, seat 11 will probably be smack in the middle of row G, so I am really happy about my seat.  I am vertically challenged so the 7th row is probably the perfect place to be!  Where do others have their seats? It will be nice to be surrounding by other fans from the site.

And I totally agree on the paying attention - while I did find the email odd I like you was all over the pre-sale - and this was during a crazy week in three cities juggling four very live deals at the moment - so I find the "i didn't know" excuse very weak - I guess after a long week my patience was stretched - that said it is tiresome to see those that come here for their own singular selfish purpose have the audacity to vigorously complain when things don't go their way..........ok enough of that

I also was surprised at how quickly we were informed as well - we will be a couple rows in front of you in row E seats 14/15 - like Marcel I have actually lost count but with the four shows we will see this tour we must be somewhere in the 40s for gigs - lol

Absolutely on bringing on july 1! Any suggestions on nice hotels near by?

Just listening to the head & the heart and this lyric just came across - "lord have mercy on my rough and rowdy ways".....seems appropriate - bring it baaaaby!

see if you have the capacity to move on and grow from this - I sure give you best wishes on that - good luck on your pursuit of this gig and you can give me a swift kick in the arse if you do make it - at the end of the day we are all connected in some way 

I am also an idiot - we have the doubletree park place in minneapolis which while a little farther away than desired is only 30 minutes............happy to hook anyone who needs a room - it is a sunday night - we will be dead most likely.....just shoot me a pm

we will also coordinate some sort of transport to and fro

the logistics of this tour are not easy - I prefer up and down the eastern seaboard! but hitting my old grateful dead trail of touring the midwest with the boys works as well.......bring it!

All you lucky people going should be very excited by now :)

I am hoping the crowd will be much better than what was described at Chicago.  Being that the Weesner Amphitheater is small and intimate, I am hoping the crowd will be amazing.

Here's hoping that the "isolated" thunderstorms the weathermen are talking about will stay away or roll through before the show begins.  It's going to be a hot one -- 91 and humid today -- but I guess that is still cooler than Louisville a couple of days ago.
