    Hi Omer

Thanks for a brilliant review. Yes I thought it was strange when I saw a jazz festival for dg :-s. he put in another Dylan song eh? Expect dg managed to add to it with his performance.

Swearing can be part of a dg performance and if he can insert it into his show he will and when he does it appears appropriate not just being used as an expletive to shock anyone. So noone should take offence.

Lol at your voice. Hope it has recovered now.

Hope you can enjoy a gig closer to home soon.

    Hi richy.

Thanks for the pics - it does show how there is more to the dg show than his singing - which is obviously the main part. The lighting effects really do add to the performance and thanks to the all the people involved with the sound and lighting.

With regards to the guitar tuning. I went to one gig in 2003 and it was a small theatre in europe - it was packed and everyone was soooo hot including the band. Part way through one song dg asked for another guitar as the one he was playing had gone out - his assistant brought one on and he swapped it in mid lyrics without breaking - it was a great moment. My daughter is a musician and she says how easily the instruments can go out of tune with the humidity and temp and this can be worse with string instruments. They can easily go out in just a few minutes so that is why they have to keep being tuned and why dg sometimes has to tune if he picks one that has been standing.

Glad you had a great time and assume you are home all safe and sound.

    Keep smiling

Hey I was wondering if anyone had audio files of this performance so I could put them on my ipod.  I know other artist that do that like Dave Mathews and John Mayer.  Thanks from what I hear this concert was great.

    Thanks

    Hi cbleile,

and welcome to the boards  Smile

Unfortunately there is no audio recording of this performance that I know of. On archive.org you will find plenty of other live recordings ranging from as far back as 1993.

The swearing was because the bassists pickup kept cracking, throughout the first few songs.  The connection finally quit altogether and they finally turned him off, and his spotlight too.  The bassist and David responded with a 'f***' away from the mic in the backstage direction, simply from frustration. Didn't hear the "S***" but I assume it was related.  Seemed like that electrical issue was a problem in few spots through the show, but they did a great job staying focused and giving a great show.

Re: the swearing, perhaps a bit of a lesson....different cultures react to swearing differently. Dubai I would think would be very conservative and find it offensive. Best to respect the culture when your there. IMHO...I'm sure no offense was intended, but it is what it is.

I know since I've become a dad and started to take my kids to shows (only good ones! like DGray's upcoming in canada) I've become much more sensitive to this sort of thing.
