Just noticed we are getting close to 50k members.  I think we should have a celebration when we hit 50k, on-line and live.

Anyone else have any ideas?

Good one pdx, although some of the 49,999 are already over there lol.

I think a toast to the site and the people who run it would at least be in the cards.  We can send our regards here and maybe there will even be a few pics people want to post of their live celebrations.  Depending on how many new people sign up before the 13th we can possibly do that in Vancouver once we figure out where we are going, er, Eileen figures out where we are going.

Love this. You guys gave me a good laugh this evening. I've been sick all work and therefore a little MIA. Have been catching up on the forum and I'm definitely in for a 50k celebration! Let's get moving! I'm going to head out on to the street now with my sandwich board sign and megaphone.

 

I have rounded up some helpers

We have had 21 new members in the last 24 hours so I figure at this rate we should be at 50k in about 50 days.

49,003 now, onwards to 50k, I think we should have live entertainment, perhaps a podcast or some videos by members with youtube links.  I am sure we can count on Ray for some music.

Based on the numbers about a month ago, the per diem rate of new membership is 19.  We now have 424 to go until 50k which would take 22 days at this rate. We might hit it at the end of the month. 

We all love a good party and although we are located all over the world, maybe we can still celebrate together here or in live small groups.

We need people to be in charge of :

1.  Venue (s) and a name for the event

2.   Food and beverages

3.   Entertainment

4.   Photos

5.   Security and designated drivers lol

 Any volunteers or other ideas?

Brilliant!   Seems you have everything quite under control . . . I'm game for whatever the final decision is.  Wouldn't an appearance by DG just be the icing on the celebration cake?!
