I haven't seen any posts about this show yet, who's going. David will perform on Saturday, July 3, 2010 for the Corbury Festival in Oxfordshire, UK. http://www.cornburyfestival.com/artists.php

This post has been made a sticky for the next week so it is easier to find for anyone who will be attending this show. Looking forward to updates. Yes

Thank you for putting the attention back to that show, Kendall. The first proper concert on European soil since the first half of February, except for a three songs appearance in Dublin in March. This will be so well worth the long wait.

According to the official festival's site David will get on stage at 9.30 pm. Hard to believe it's just another 50 1/2 hours to go until we will get to hear some of the best music on the planet. Yes!

So who else is going? And - any thoughts about whether songs from the new album will get played or not?

It's a festival so I do not expect any songs from the actual Foundling cd but am hoping for 'A Moment Changes Everything'. How about anyone else?

Well, if he suddenly startered playing A Century Ends from beginning to the end on his UK tour, I'd rather have that coming as a surprise on the gig! (I'm not being realistic here now am I? Tongue Tied )

Yes ak11!, even though it maybe does sound a bit unrealistic .. that would be amazing! Smile

But i think there are some songs for me (e.g. Gathering Dust, the Light etc) for which, if he was planning on playing them, i would like it kept secret as the thrill of recognising the first strums of the guitar for certan songs is such a good feeling..

At first I'd like to thank SheilaD and her husband for offering me a lift back to Oxford last night. Weren't it for the two of you - I would not have been able to go to Cornbury at all.

At Heathrow airport now. This gig yesterday has so been well worth travelling through the night and missing out on sleep. No matter how good other artist's shows are that I go to - there is no one like David and his magnificient band.

This was a festival and when I overheard people say that the Buddy Guy performance would not possibly be topped I knew they were in for a surprise.

As expected from a festival performance this was a greatest hits show, meant to catch the crowd. And DG and the band sure did. Actually I did not expect any new songs yesterday, except for maybe 'A Moment Changes Everything'. It was not played but a huge surprise instead.

It was a song called 'Dig A Pony' with a most catching refrain that went 'All I want is you'. A song that may be a DG original or a cover, Elysium and I were wondering. This can't be from the Foundling cd as it is the opposite of what Foundling is said to be, it's upbeat, loud, fast, big fun. This put a big smile onto my face. very nice. so I spent the night singing that refrain in my mind. I don't remember seeing any such title on the bonus cd either but please correct me if I am wrong. This airport pc won't allow me to open a second window and just check.

so here is the setlist. thanks go out to Mick and Mark who generously offered me theirs.

    • Fugitive - a fulminant start
    • You're The World To Me - !!!
    • Be Mine
    • Jackdaw
    • Now And Always - so happy to see that one on the playlist, always a highlight
    • Slow Motion
    • First Chance - wow. excellent. powerful and Neill's guitar always catches my attention on that one.
    • Please Forgive Me - which came with the full crowd participation although it was not in the encore slot
    • Nemesis - as always it took me into another universe. a special version as I have never heard it in such a rocky version. the improvised part went wild. brilliant. and once again - Neill's guitar and Rob's bass!
    • This Year's Love
    • (In The Morning) - not played
    • Babylon - with a lot of interaction between DG and the crowd. this songs gets to me each and every time.
    • Sail Away
    • encore break
    • Otherside (not played)
    • Dig A Pony - !!!
    • The One I Love - made a great finish

Keith and James were as excellent as ever. So were Neill Rob and David. Thank you guys. I loved every second of that show.

Thanks for the good company SheilaD and husband. It was great meeting you again. As well as Elysium, Mick and Mark. Thanks to the taxi driver who took me to the festival, Mr James Pearce. He played a song of his own on the car stereo and gave me three of his own cds. Very nice. Go and get this album done, Mr.

Sorry money is running out. See you later in Ireland...

this was such a great show, still beaming with joy.
